List of Pre-Qualified Consulting Firms

The Dane County Better Urban Infill Development (BUILD) program provides grants to Dane County municipalities to
hire planning consultants and develop infill and redevelopment plans for portions of their communities that are
under utilized or run down. Funding comes from both the County general levy and the County’s Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) program.
Communities that are approved for BUILD or CDBG funding for planning assistance may select a planning firm that has been pre-qualified by the County. To receive pre-qualification, firms submitted statements of qualification to Dane County Planning and Development. A County Review Panel evaluated the qualifications of the firms based on established evaluation criteria. Firms that scored a minimum of 70 points are included on the County-approved list.

Consulting Firm Evaluation Criteria
- demonstrated ability to promote the redevelopment and infill development goals listed above and described in Design Dane! and the Dane County Comprehensive Plan (30 points);
- demonstrated ability to involve key stakeholders
and the public in meaningful ways (25 points); - have produced plans that have been
or are likely to be implemented in the marketplace (25 points); and - demonstrated ability and experience using
visual design methods in planning projects (20 points).
