The Dane County CDBG Office administers four distinct funding processes for applying for CDBG funds. The processes are:

Municipal Planning/BUILD

The funds available under this process are to assist local efforts to develop visions and plans for community revitalization. Grants are provided to local units of government to purchase assistance from a list of qualified planning firms.

Letters of intent from municipalities are solicited on an annual basis in the spring. Interested municipalities should contact Pamela Andros.

Housing, Homeless and Economic Development Programs

CDBG funding for housing rehabilitation, down-payment assistance, housing counseling, homeless services, small or micro business loans, and business counseling are available on an annual basis through the Consolidated Application/Joint Proposal process in conjunction with the United Way, the City of Madison, and the Dane County Department of Human Services.

These applications are available May 1, 2007 and are due in the County CDBG Office no later than Friday, June 1, 2007. If you have a question about whether your program would qualify for these funds, contact Ann McCartney.

Paratransit Funding

These CDBG funds are administered through the Dane County Department of Human Services through a separate application process.

For information on these programs and applications, contact Norah Cashin at the Department of Human Services.

Housing Development and Commercial Revitalization Funds

The County has two revolving loan funds that have separate, on-going application cycles. The funds will be used to stimulate economic development and to provide loans for commercial revitalization. These funds have been crucial in providing funding for small business development and expansion in the Dane County Urban Consortium.

The applications listed below are for both the Commercial Revolving Loan Fund (CRLF) and the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF).
