Tapestry is an online search application that gives you access to recorded documents in
multiple counties. You can access all real estate documents in Dane County since August of
1978 and even view images of these documents since January 1, 1992.
What records can I access?
In Dane County, the index of real estate documents recorded beginning in August, 1978, and the document images since January 1, 1992, are available. Select other counties on the Tapestry list to find out about their available records.
What equipment do I need?
You need Win98 or better, and MS Explorer version 5.0 or better. A fast processor, modem and large, high-resolution screen are recommended. You also need Adobe Acrobat Reader to bring up document images. Be sure to use the Adobe tool bar, not the MS Explorer tool bar to print images. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download from http://www.adobe.com.
What are the fees for a search?
$5.95 for a search and 50 cents per page to view or print.
Are there disclaimers I should read?
Yes. The Disclaimer includes important information such as “wall dates.”
