The Vital Records Section of the Dane County Register of Deeds Office maintains copies of all
birth, death, and marriage records for events that occurred in Dane County. Vital Records also
records and provides free certified copies of new military discharge papers, and provides free
certified copies of papers previously recorded by our office. Most records are available for
