The Area
Agency on Aging of Dane County is coordinating the
National Family Caregiver Support
Program.
Caregiver services that are available to caregivers are:
| Case Management | Case Managers at Community Service Providers work with individual caregivers to assess their needs and to identify services to help caregivers meet those needs. |
| Support Groups | Support groups for caregivers provide a safe environment for talking about the challenges that caregivers face. Transportation and respite care may be available to qualifying caregivers so that they may are able to attend the support groups. |
| Caregiver Training | Registered nurses from Home Health United conduct home visits to train caregivers in personal care techniques. |
| Supportive Home Care Services | Caregiver assistance with home care and household management is provided on a case-by-case basis. |
| Respite Care | Short-term and intermittent relief for caregivers is available in certain situations. |
| Nutritional Counseling | Meal planning and nutritional education is available from the nutritionist at the Area Agency on Aging. |
| Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Resource Guide | This book provides resource information to older adults who are raising the children of relatives. |
