Dane County Commission on Sensitive Crimes Coordinated Community Response to Domestic Violence Task Force

Overview/History
The Dane County Coordinated Community response to Domestic Violence Task Force (CCRDVTF), is an appointed task force of the Dane County Commission on Sensitive Crimes. The Commission created the CCRDVTF in June of 1990 with the intention of developing a county-wide, systematic response to relationship (domestic) violence. The CCRDVTF works to enhance safety and protection for victims of domestic violence and their children, while seeking to hold batterers accountable for their violent behavior.

Mission

“To eliminate domestic violence in Dane County.”

Goals
  1. To increase the consistency of intervention and prevention of domestic violence by improving and maintaining coordination and cooperative efforts among agencies which commonly deal with domestic violence such as law enforcement, prosecution, corrections, health care, schools, victim and children's service providers, and the community-at-large
  2. To increase safety, protection and intervention services for all domestic violence victims and their children.
  3. To create and communicate a community standard of non-violence.
  4. To shift responsibility for holding the abuser accountable from the victim to the justice system and the community-at-large.
  5. To enhance Dane County's ability to hold all domestic abuse offenders responsible for their violent behavior while offering them an opportunity to change. To create and communicate a community standard of non-violence.

Meetings of all Voting DVCCRTF Members are held monthly on the second Friday of each month from noon to 1:00 p.m. There are currently six Task Force sub-committees, one workgroup and two ad hoc groups on paper. These groups are:
