Parent Education Program
Before attending the mandatory mediation session, every parent must attend the Parent Education Program (PE).
The goals of this program include: 1) helping parents cope with changes in the family and focus on their
children's needs and 2) educating parents about the mediation and study process and the legal procedures in
family court.
Parent Education is scheduled twice monthly. This program is intended for adults only and appropriate childcare
arrangements should be made. If you are unable to attend Parent Education on the date assigned to you, it is
very important that you call FCCS and reschedule as soon as you are aware of any conflicts. You may reschedule
only one time. There is a $25.00 charge beginning January 1, 2011, payable in cash at the door. Significant
others are encouraged to attend, and may attend free of charge. If there are any no contact conditions between
the parents, they will be assigned separate Parent Education Programs.
Parent Education is presented by the Family Court Counselors.
