The Aldo Leopold Nature Center holds periodic burn schools, great training for volunteers who want an introduction to prairie burns. If you're interested in future classes, contact Treva Breuch at 221-0404 for information.

Old Halfway Prairie Schoolhouse will be open on Sunday afternoons from 1-4:30 from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The oldest school in Dane County is at the intersection of Hwy. 19 and County Hwy. F. The interior is restored to a 1930's era classroom and is maintained by the Friends of old halfway prairie schoolhouse.
