The Evjue Foundation, the charitable arm of the Capitol Times, is supporting youth volunteers in Dane County Parks this year with a generous grant. Projects include Youth Service Day, the Walbridge Academy tree planting, tree plantings at Badger Prairie Park, woodchipping at Viking Park and in 2000, May Flower Day. We are very pleased that the Evjue Foundation recognizes the contributions youth make in our community, by providing us the means to run these projects.

The Friends of Dane County Dog Parks committee has successfully raised the funds needed to fence the new 40 acre parcel of land at Token Creek. They also raised enough to install an information kiosk that will display a plaque recognizing those who contributed $100 or more to this project.

Representatives of the Friends of Dane County Dog Parks will be joined by the Dane County Parks Commission, Dane County government representatives and the Dane County Humane Society. Mounds Pet Food Ware-

house will be there to provide lots of doggie items for door prizes.

Among the major contributors are Aid Association for Lutherans, Sun Prairie Parks Department, Waunakee Veterinary Clinic, Mad City Dog Training, Dog's Best Friend, Countryside Animal Clinic, DeForest Veterinary Clinic, Animal Hospital of Sun Prairie, Burke Lutheran Church Endowment Foundation, Badger Kennel Club, Camp K9, and many individuals

Token Creek is located on Hwy 51 just north of the interstate highway. Please join us at this festive occasion.

 Booklovers, Turn in Your Receipts!

Canterbury Booksellers Supports the Adult Conservation Team

Canterbury Booksellers has a receipt-saving program that benefits local organizations, including the Adult Conservation Team. When you purchase books there, ask them to save the receipts in the "Dane County Parks Adult Conservation Team" envelope. When the totals of those receipts add up to $500, they will donate two rooms at the Canterbury Inn to the Adult Conservation Team! These rooms will be auctioned in the future to benefit the Adult Conservation Team. Each room in this delightful bed and breakfast above the bookstore is decorated in the Canterbury Tales theme, complete with an original mural. So, if you're going to purchase books, especially over the holidays, consider shopping at Canterbury and benefiting the Adult Conservation Team.
