Volunteers participate in cleanups and workdays at our off-leash dog exercise areas. There are opportunities to do on-going cleanups on your own, or to take part in organized group activities. We provide garbage bags for cleanups and other tools and supplies for workdays.
Dog exercise areas are located at Yahara Heights, Token Creek, Indian Lake, Viking and Prairie Moraine Parks. Park users at Yahara Heights, Token Creek and Prairie Moraine have worked together with the Parks Department to organize workdays.
Those interested in Prairie Moraine may contact the Advocates for Dogs at Prairie Moraine.
There is an annual City-County spring dog park cleanup, usually on a Saturday morning towards the end of March or beginning of April. Sponsors provide wonderful prizes for participants, including gift certificates for merchandise and services.
For a current listing of opportunities in this area, check the "Volunteer Opportunities" page.
