To provide an environment that supports and encourages the discovery of the history,
culture, and resources of the Dane County Region, the Nine Springs E-Way, and Lake
Farm County Park through recreation, interactive programs, special events, and
interpretation.
The windmill is the symbol for the Lussier Family Heritage Center, a familiar site
on the Wisconsin landscape. It is a metaphor for the diverse functions of the
Heritage Center, a symbol of many parts working together. The windmill's blades
represent the many natural, cultural, recreational and multi-purpose activities that
take place at the Center, driven by the winds of community needs. In turn, the
Heritage Center responds by creating energy and momentum for the region. The vane
represents a fluid response to changing demands, while the base symbolizes the support
of the community and the framework the Heritage Center provides to sustain regional
goals.
