Welcome to the 2012-17 Dane County Parks and Open Space Plan web page. Dane County Parks has been meeting with local units of government, park users, and non profit conservation groups since December of 2010 to gather comments and ideas for the update to the plan. A draft plan has been completed and is now available for review on this website. Comments and feedback on the plan will be accepted through December 31st, 2011. The plan is anticipated to be considered for adoption by the County Board early in 2012. Park and Open Space Advisory Committee

An Advisory Committee will review public input gathered throughout the planning process and ultimately decide which recommendations are incorporated into the 2012-2017 Dane County Parks and Open Space Plan. The Advisory Committee is composed of Dane County Park Commission members William Lunney (Chair), Christine Haag, Supervisor Kyle Richmond, Supervisor Dave Ripp, Mary Schlaefer, Tom Thoresen, Daniel Wisniewski; and the following County Board Supervisors: Supervisor Robin Schmidt, Supervisor Patrick Downing, Supervisor Carousel Bayrd and Supervisor Melissa Sargent.
