If you choose to drink and drive, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies will be hunting for you.
With thousands of deer hunters hitting the roads over the days ahead, and Thanksgiving travelers on their way to see family and friends, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office will have additional patrols on the road.
Starting Thursday November 19th, deputies working overtime will be focusing on speeders and drunk drivers. A total of 10 additional deputies will be deployed to enforce traffic laws and reduce the probability of injuries and fatalities on our area roads. The overtime enforcement is made possible with grants from the WI Department of Transportation, Bureau of Traffic Safety.
“Deer hunting is a tradition that so many Wisconsinites enjoy. I wish all hunters a fun and prosperous season. Travel and hunt responsibly and stay safe,” said Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney.
Let’s keep the hunting in the woods, plan ahead, drive the speed limit, and don’t get behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking.
