Eagle River Man Arrested for 5th OWI Offense

Madison, WI. March 3, 2010 – At approximately 9:51 p.m., a Dane County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a vehicle turn south from CTH V on to USH 51, and then begin traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic. The Deputy was able to stop this vehicle, prior to a crash occurring. Upon conducting a traffic stop, Robert H. Bennett, age 45, of Eagle River, was subsequently arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 5th Offense. Bennett was booked into the Dane County Jail on the felony OWI charge. He was also cited for Operating after Revocation and Inattentive Driving.
