Issued By: SheriffView only releases from SheriffMadison, WI – At 3:41 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Black Earth, Cross Plains, and Middleton Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 5353 Scherbel Road in the Town of Berry.
The fire was called in by the owner who was burning brush when the wind shifted and fire spread to a nearby barn. The barn, along with miscellaneous equipment inside, is a total loss. No animals or persons were injured in the fire.
The damage is estimated in excess of $100,000.
