At 10:02 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 109 N. Main Street in the Village of Deerfield for an armed robbery that occurred at the BP Gas Station.
The clerk reported a white male entered the business and stated he had a gun, though one was not seen. The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash and fled north out of the village. A responding deputy observed the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect fled the stop location in his vehicle and a pursuit ensued.
The deputy was able to stop the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Powers Avenue and Commercial Avenue. The suspect, Dane A. Schrader, 23, from Oregon, was arrested without incident. Dane County detectives and lab personnel also responded out to the scene. Charges for Schrader are yet to be determined.
The Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted with the pursuit. The incident remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
