The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of new construction burglaries that have occurred in the town of Windsor this week.

Three incidents have been reported in just the last two days, all matching the same description.  Thieves have been entering unsecured new construction sites during the night and stealing large amounts of copper wire, tools, and equipment.  The latest incident was reported at approximately 6:45 this morning on Stepping Stone Circle in the town of Windsor.  Two other addresses, one on Wolf Hollow Road and the other on Grosbeak Glenn, were reported on Tuesday, July 17th.

Contractors in the area are encouraged to secure their sites to the extent they are able.  Anyone who may have witnessed activity related to these burglaries is asked to call the Dane County tip line at 608-284-6900.  The Sheriff’s Office also asks anyone who may live or work near new construction in the area, to please be aware of the comings and goings of individuals and report any activity that appears suspicious.
