Dane County Parking Ramp
Dane County Provides Downtown Parking
The Dane County Parking Ramp renamed Capitol Square South Ramp in the mid 1990's is located on the southern
most corner of The Outer Ring of The Capitol Square on South Fairchild Street between West Main and West
Doty Streets in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. The first five stories were built in 1957 providing
approximately 700 parking spaces for county employees and public users. In 1963 two more floors were
added providing an additional 300 stalls mainly for public users.

The Dane County Parking Ramp also provides parking near several elegant dining establishments, unique
pubs, and gourmet coffee shops. It is just a short walk from the County Ramp to the many excellent
concerts and theatrical performances at the Overture Center. The main Madison Public Library, The
Children's Museum and several other museums as well as the upper State Street business area are also
within walking distance from Dane County's downtown parking facility.
