Dane County Executive Joe Parisi issued the following statement regarding the Sunday evening police shooting in Kenosha:

“The tragic shooting of Jacob Blake speaks to the urgent need for the state legislature to heed Governor Evers’ call for a special session on policing and criminal justice reform. The need for clear and consistent use of force standards, codes of conduct and de-escalation training could not be any clearer. We don’t need Speaker Vos to appoint another task force, we need him to act now to protect and provide equal justice to all Wisconsinites. Jacob Blake, his children, and family experienced unforgettable trauma last evening. The Dane County community stands in support of them and the Governor's call for state action.”
