Dane County’s Health and Human Needs Committee will hear an informational presentation at their Thursday, February 25 meeting on the RFP and bid waiver process, as well as efforts to diversify POS agencies, along with initial discussions related to budget priorities.

At the meeting, the committee will begin a budget priorities discussion. The intention for this discussion is to review the last two budget's amendments and discuss potential budget items for the 2022 budget to build on previous budgets and identify potential areas of investment in light of the COVID 19 pandemic as well as mental health and youth programs.

"In the coming weeks and months, hundreds of people who are currently staying in hotels and shelters supported by federal COVID relief funds and those "doubled up" with families and friends will be searching for places to live," said County Board Supervisor Heidi Wegleitner (District 2), who serves on the Health and Human Needs Committee. "Have our budget decisions prepared us to meet this significant need"?

An information presentation will be given as well on the RFP and bid waiver process as well as efforts to diversity POS agencies.

"Understanding the foundational information on processes will help guide us as we move through the many challenges we face in the coming months and year," said County Board Supervisor Elizabeth Doyle (District 1), Chair of the Health and Human Needs Committee.
