Peter Conrad has been appointed Dane County’s new Zoning Administrator, Jeanie Sieling, director of the Department of Planning and Development, announced today. He replaces James Gregorius, who retired February 28. Conrad, of Green Bay, has led the Oconto County Planning, Zoning and Solid Waste Department since 1995. Prior to that, he worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. “I made sure that the customers that we serve were represented on the hiring panel so that we could find someone who could serve our unique needs here in Dane County. Peter Conrad has the right mix of experience, people skills and energy to lead this key area of county government,“ said Sieling. Conrad will oversee a staff of nine in the Zoning Division of the County’s Department of Planning and Development. The division is responsible for the permit review process relating to granting or denying zoning permits for new construction and major repairs and additions, rezoning, conditional use permits, filling and grading, erosion control, and other permits. He is also responsible for enforcement of the zoning ordinances in the unincorporated areas of Dane County. Conrad has served as Oconto County Planning, Zoning and Solid Waste Administrator since 1995. He holds a B.S. degree from UW-Stevens Point, where he majored in Wildlife Management and minored in Computer Information Systems. He has served as president of the Wisconsin County Code Administrators. Conrad starts his new position May 19, at a salary of $54,787. # # #
