Two-Vehicle Crash Town of Dunn - UPDATE

Madison, WI. – At approximately 10:10 am on October 24, 2007 Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies along with McFarland Fire/EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy B east of Mahoney Rd. in the town of Dunn. Irma Crisman, 77 years old from Oregon, was traveling eastbound on Hwy B in a 1998 Mercury Sable. Paul Monroe, 42 years old from Stoughton, was traveling behind Crisman on Hwy B in a 2006 Nissan Armada. As Monroe looked down at his cell phone, Crisman had slowed considerably. Monroe drove into the back of the vehicle driven by Crisman. Crisman’s vehicle went off the road to the south striking a tree. Monroe’s vehicle also went of the road to the south ending up on the roof. Crisman had to be removed from the vehicle by rescue personnel. She was transported to UW Hospital by Med Flight with serious injuries. Monroe was also transported to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other occupants in the vehicles. Both driver’s were wearing their seatbelts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. November 5, 2007, at 12:16 pm Irma Crisman was pronounced deceased. Crisman passed due to the injuries sustained from the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
