(Editors/Reporters: Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today released this statement in response to the announcement from Midwest Airlines of the new nonstop Midwest Connect regional jet service between Madison and Kansas City.) “We are thrilled with the announcement of nonstop service from Madison to Kansas City on Midwest Connect. Not only does this provide convenient service to Kansas City, but it opens up new, easy routes from Madison to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Seattle. These cities are among the Top 20 destinations for passengers departing from Dane County Regional Airport. “The Kansas City nonstop service is also important to American Family Insurance, one of Dane County’s major employers, which has a regional headquarters in St. Joseph, Missouri, and regularly flies employees between Madison and Kansas City. I want to thank Midwest Airlines for starting this new service, and our Airport Director Bradley Livingston and the Airport Commission for their work on securing new air service.” # # #
