Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to numerous vehicle crashes and slide offs due to ice and snow covered roads throughout Dane County. Among them was a semi-trailer rollover in the Town of Verona. Ramond D. Broz, 59 years old from Santa Cruz, CA, was traveling in the eastbound lane of Hwy 18/151 in a semi-tractor and trailer. Broz lost control and drove into the median near Hwy 69. The semi-tractor trailer jackknifed causing the trailer to detach and roll, spilling 50,000 gallons of condensed milk and 90 gallons of diesel fuel. Broz was not injured but was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions. Hwy 18/151 was partially shut down while the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Veolia Environmental Services responded to clean up the spills and the semi-tractor along with the trailer were removed from the scene.
