Structure Fire in Town of Berry Destroys Home

Madison, WI: At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008 Dane County Deputies and the Fire Departments of Cross Plaines, Black Earth, Middleton, and Waunakee responded to 5135 County Highway P, Town of Berry for a report of a house fire. Upon Deputy and Fire Department arrival the home was full engulfed. The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire, which was reported by several citizens. Three family cats perished in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but does not appear suspicious. The estimated loss is $350,000. The house was a total loss.
