Graduation Day For New Dane County Deputies

At a 1:00 PM ceremony today at the Commercial Avenue Campus, Madison Area Technical College (MATC) will graduate 11 new Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies from their Law Enforcement Academy. This marks the 108th class of law enforcement officers to graduation from MATC.
The Dane County Deputies make up exactly half of the 22-member class. They include:

Middleton
· John Gnacinski, age 23 of
New Berlin
· Dennis Jones, age 37 of
Cottage Grove
· Stephen Jones, age 22 of
Waterloo
· Nathan Kandis, age 22 of
Geneseo, Ill.
· Justin McMurtry, age 24 of Milwaukee
· Jose Luis Pacheco, age 33 of
Madison
· Brian Riley, age 36 of
Janesville
· Jeremy Trimble, age 24 of
Wauwatosa
· Toua Vue, age 33 of
Madison
· Joseph Wesolowski, age 51 of Madison
The members of this class were originally sworn-in at a January 7th ceremony by Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney. Sheriff Mahoney, along with Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk will be speaking at today’s graduation program. Starting Monday morning these new deputies will begin their 4 weeks of on the job training in the Dane County Jail.
