Madison, WI. May 23, 2008 – At approximately 12:01 am on Friday, May 23, 2008, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, Mt. Horeb Police, Mt. Horeb EMS, Madison EMS and Cross Plains EMS were dispatched to an injury crash in the Town of Cross Plains. The crash occurred on CTH J, approximately 0.5 miles west of CTH P. Brad Stadler, age 29 of Madison, was driving his 1994 Ford Mustang westbound on CTH J and went off the road, rolled the vehicle one and half times and it came to rest on its roof. Stadler was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Passenger, Kelly Smith age 22 of Verona, was wearing a seatbelt and had minor facial injuries. Stadler and Smith were transported by ambulance to UW Hospital. Stadler was admitted for serious but not-life threatening injuries to the head and back. Stadler was arrested for Causing Injury by Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence and cited for not wearing a seatbelt. Both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
