Dane County Jail Inmate Declared AWOL - Update

***UPDATE*** On Monday, July 21, 2008, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Dane County Sheriff’s Office Detectives located and arrested Darrius R. Howard at an address in the City of Madison. Howard was arrested without incident and returned to the Dane County Jail and will be tentatively charged with Escape. Madison, WI – July 16, 2008 On July 16, 2008, Darrius R. Howard, an inmate in the Dane County Jail, failed to return to the Dane County Ferris Center Jail after being released for an appointment with his Probation Officer. A Dane County Deputy following up with the Probation Officer learned that Howard did attend the scheduled 2:30 p.m. appointment. However, he then failed to return to the Ferris Center and was declared AWOL at 5:30 p.m. Howard is described as an 18-year old black male, approximately 5’07” tall and weighing approximately150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Howard, who has ties to the Northport area, also has a tattoo of a cross on his right arm and another on his right shoulder. At the time Howard went AWOL, he was serving a 6-month sentence, with work release, for Aggravated Battery. Anyone with information on Howard’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
