American Eagle Launches Non-stop Flights to New York-LaGuardia from Dane County Regional Airport

American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today launched nonstop service between Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) in Madison and New York-LaGuardia Airport. “Now we’re only one stop away from the world’s financial capital,” Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk said today at an airport event marking the launch. “That is huge for our growing companies who, increasingly, do business and compete in national and international markets. And it encourages greater investment in our community. I thank American Eagle for making this business decision, and our airport commission and management for making it a priority.” American Eagle is providing the round-trip service between the two cities with one flight daily, except Saturday, using 37-seat Embraer jets. Flight time to New York is about two hours and 20 minutes. “American Eagle is pleased to increase our existing Madison service with this new non-stop flight to New York-LaGuardia,” said Terry Hart, Vice President – Central Region for American Eagle. “Madison residents will benefit from the increased business and leisure travel opportunities that this service provides.” Bill White, Madison attorney and chair of the Dane County Regional Airport Commission, said, “Our business community, academic community, and convention and hospitality industry benefit greatly every time air connections are improved. New York is also a mecca for the arts. The added convenience of this flight further strengthens the connection between New York and our own vibrant arts community.” New York is an important source for guest performing artists, and local arts managers have said the nonstop flights will be helpful to bringing in these artists. The Sunday through Friday schedule for the new service is as follows (all times local): Flight Departs Arrives 4829 Madison at 5:40 p.m. New York 9:01 p.m. 4837 New York at 3:40 p.m. Madison at 5:10 p.m. The new service to New York is in addition to American Eagle’s seven daily flights to Chicago O’Hare and two daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport from Madison. # # #
