Two units of the Dane County Department of Human Services that help older adults in Dane County are setting up shop in new offices. The Dane County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will be moving from its current location at 1955 W. Broadway in Monona to the Dane County Human Services Department’s South Madison office located at 2322 South Park Street. The Human Services Department’s Services to Elderly Persons (or STEP) unit will relocate from the South Madison office to the Dane County Job Center at 1819 Aberg Avenue. Both offices will be open for business at their new locations on Monday, January 30th. “Our staff in these two offices will continue to provide the excellent services they always have to Dane County seniors,” said Human Services Director Lynn Green. “The only thing that will change is the business address and phone numbers.” The Dane County AAA advocates for older people in the community and supports them with services such as nutrition programs, transportation, case management, home care, elder abuse investigations, crime victim services, caregiver programs and referrals to other services to assist seniors. The new main phone number for the Dane County Area Agency on Aging will be 261-9930. The new Elder Abuse Hotline number will be 261-9933. The Senior Hotline to Help, which provides general information and referral to seniors, will keep its existing number, 266-9007. The Dane County Department of Human Services STEP Unit assists older adults and adults with physical disabilities throughout Dane County in applying for, Food Share, Medical Assistance and other programs. STEP unit staff will be informing clients of their new contact numbers. The STEP Unit can be reached at its new home at the Dane County Job Center at 242-7400. ###
