A Madison magazine publisher and an entrepreneurial specialist are the featured speakers for the March session of the Minority Business Development Series. The March 8 session will be the sixth in the series hosted by Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Dane County Office of Equal Opportunity, African American Black Business Association and the Latino Chamber of Commerce. The Thursday event runs from 5 – 7:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel, 706 John Nolen Drive in Madison. “Our session offers an important venue for minority business owners to convene and network, as well as provide valuable business education,” Falk said. “Session participants will walk away with contacts and more of an understanding of marketing methods and what the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs Network offers to entrepreneurs.” Milele Chikasa Anana, publisher of UMOJA, a local monthly African-American magazine, will discuss how a business should be advertised and how to utilize various methods to grow your business. Kamela Goodwyn, a minority business specialist with the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs Network, will detail the various services and resources available to entrepreneurs. Minority group members who have recently started a business or are considering doing so are encouraged to attend this free session. All businesses are welcome to attend. Spanish interpretation will be provided and refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. For more information, visit Dane County’s Web site: www.countyofdane.com. ###
