COUNTY BOARD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON 2006 COUNTY BUDGET

The Dane County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2006 County Budget on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 7:00 PM in Room 201 of the City County Building. The County Executive's proposed budget recommends $427.3 million in total expenditures, with a property tax levy of $105 million and a county tax rate of $2.55 per thousand dollars of assessed value. All interested citizens are urged to attend the hearing to present their concerns to the Board. Those wishing to speak have five minutes to address the Board. County Board standing committees have been meeting over the last two weeks to review the County Executive’s proposed budget. Committee deliberations will continue from October 25th through November 2nd, as needed. Input provided at the public hearings could be accommodated by budget amendments during this period. It is anticipated that the full County Board will begin its budget deliberations on Monday, November 7th at 7:00 PM in Room 201 - City County Building, and continue on Wednesday, November 9th and Thursday, November 10th. Additional budget meetings would be held on Monday, November 14th and Wednesday, November 16th, if necessary. The Board may conduct budget deliberations prior to or after the regular County Board meeting on Thursday, November 17th. # # #
