Intoxicated Motorcyclist Crashes Attempting to Elude Deputy

On Saturday, September 18th at approximately 2:10 am, a Dane County Deputy observed a motorcyclist traveling erratically and aggressively on East Washington Avenue near Wright Street. The deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the motorcyclist, who then increased his speed in an attempt to elude the deputy. As the motorcyclist turned off onto North Street, he lost control and crashed near the intersection of North St. and Commercial Avenue.
Kevin T. Hyatt, age 36 of Madison, was transported to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Hyatt is currently being held in the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of OWI, 4th Offense (felony) and Possession of Cocaine (misdemeanor). He was also cited for Fleeing and Eluding, Operating After Revocation, Reckless Driving, Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed and Failure to Maintain Control.
