Due to saturated soils and deteriorating road conditions, Token Creek County Park  will be temporarily close to vehicle traffic.

Dane County Parks Director, Darren Marsh, is asking patrons not to use Token Creek County Park for the next couple of weeks until the soils start to dry out and firm up.  Due to saturated conditions, roadways and trails are very susceptible to damage.  Park roads and trails should be open again within a couple of weeks, stated Marsh.

We’re monitoring our other high use parks and trails, said Marsh.  At this time no other park or trail areas are closed, but patrons are asked to tread lightly and to contact the Parks office if they observe potential damage occurring.

Park Rangers have closed park gates to prevent vehicle traffic from entering.  The park is still open to walk-in traffic but patrons are asked to stay off all trails and grass areas. Staff will be monitoring the situation over the next week.  Roads will open again when conditions warrant..

If patrons have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Parks office at 224-3730 or check our website at www.co.dane.wi.us/lwrd/parks.   “We appreciate the cooperation the public has shown through this seasonal transition period,” added Marsh.
