Two-Vehicle Crash Results in One Fatality - Update

The two-vehicle crash on Highway 12/18 in the town of Christiana today has resulted in one fatality. The crash occurred at approximately 12:25 pm today, causing a section of the road to be closed for about three hours.
An 86-year-old Cambridge woman was driving her Ford Taurus eastbound on Highway 12/18 when she crossed the centerline at a high rate of speed, and collided head-on with a Plymouth Voyager minivan. The 86-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her family by the Dane County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the minivan, 39-year-old Anissa J. Rusch-Hallanger, was transported by Cambridge EMS to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Her 3-year-old son was a passenger in the minivan, but appeared to be uninjured in the crash. He was also taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. All parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the Ford Taurus has been identified as Mary A. Marion, age 86 from Ft. Atkinson.
