Workplace Preparations for H1N1

 

The Public-Private Partnership of Dane County is sponsoring a FREE workshop to assist public sector, private sector, and non-profit organizations develop planning strategies for workplace H1N1 preparedness based on accurate and timely information from local authorities and industry leaders.  The workshop will be held at the new MATC West Campus, 302 S. Gammon Rd, Madison, WI  53717 from 1-4pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.  The workshop is targeted toward leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors who have responsibilities and / or functions dealing with workplace preparedness.

 

With the continued outbreak of the H1N1 virus, relevant facts and timely information are extremely important to develop plans that keep organizations open and functioning.  The Workplace Preparations for H1N1 workshop includes presentations from Dr. Thomas Schlenker, Director for Public Health Madison & Dane County; Paul Synnes of American Family Insurance; University of Wisconsin Professor Vicki Bier, PhD of the Center for Human Performance and Risk Analysis; and Rick Blum, Assignment Editor for WISC TV.  This and future workshops are designed to be concise and informative so attendees can maximize the value of their time. 

 

The Public Private Partnership of Dane County serves to support the development of strategies and networks to improve Dane County’s Public, Private, and Non-Profit organization’s emergency preparedness.  The Partnership’s goals include acting as a source for developing basic preparedness strategies and providing the professional networking to support the development of those strategies.  The Partnership has workshops planned to share a variety of tools, resources, and ideas that can help individual’s develop and grow professional skills, knowledge base, and personal networks specific to emergency preparedness.
