to be Held at Lake Farm County Park, August 1st and 2nd

Dane County Parks is pleased to host the 11th Annual Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival at Lake Farm County Park this Friday and Saturday, August 1st and 2nd.  Visitors from throughout the mid-west come to this family-friendly festival to enjoy a diversity of performances, from foot-stomping blue-grass, to lyrical folk, to harmony-driven gospel music, all on the beautiful shores of Lake Waubesa. The Festival has been a long time supporter of Dane County Parks.  A portion of each ticket sold is donated to the Friends of Dane County Endowment https://www.madisoncommunityfoundation.org/DaneCountyParks.

Presented by the Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective, the Festival is a two-day outdoor festival in Madison that celebrates traditional music and dance through performances, educational workshops, and interactive jam sessions. The festival invites people of all backgrounds and ages to enjoy and learn about the performing arts at Lake Farm County Park, within the Capital Springs Recreation Area. Great local food and beverages will be available from some of the finest community venues.

Performances, workshops, and jams are held concurrently on three stages. Formal performances take place on the main stage. Artists hold educational workshops and jams in a more intimate setting on the Roots and Reasons stage. This stage provides a unique opportunity for festival attendees to interact with the artists through interviews, discussions, workshops, demonstrations, and interactive jam sessions. Interviews with performers allow festival attendees to learn about the history, culture, and techniques of the traditional arts. Workshops, demonstrations, and jam sessions provide attendees the opportunity get involved.

Come out enjoy the setting, have some fun, and relax while supporting traditional music and supporting Dane County Parks!  For schedule, ticket information, and more, please visit the Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival website: http://sugarmaplefest.org.
