Dane County Regional Airport Celebrates First Non-Stop Flight to Charlotte, North Carolina

Madison, WI – The Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) celebrated the inaugural American Airlines new, non-stop service from Madison to Charlotte, North Carolina at a news conference held at DCRA. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and Airport Director Bradley Livingston recognized this important addition to DCRA’s service and sent the first flight on its way. Beginning April 5th, 2016 with the afternoon departure, travelers from Madison now have two nonstop options to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). A daily early morning and afternoon departure will be flown on aircrafts featuring modern and comfortable two-class seating.

A strong passenger demand continues to drive flight service additions at the Dane County Regional Airport. "American’s commitment to south-central Wisconsin has a significant economic impact on the Dane County region," said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi. "Additional nonstop flights to more destinations help to make Dane County a world-class destination to live, work and play."

Guests at the gate enjoyed cake and passengers on this first flight received a Charlotte gift bag filled with resources to help them plan their visit during their flight, including Charlotte Regional Visitors Association lip balm, Explore Charlotte magazines, Charlotte’s Got A lot publications, and local North Carolina Barbeque sauce.

"Charlotte offers DCRA travelers connections to many popular domestic and international destinations, and is a desired destination for business and leisure travel in and of itself."

Travelers from Madison arriving at Charlotte on American Airlines will have access to more than 674 daily flights to 154 domestic and international destinations.
