The suspect in a multi-jurisdictional shooting investigation is now being identified.

Twenty-year-old Zachary T. Hays of West Allis remains in UW Hospital.  Multiple counties, including Milwaukee, Columbia, Sauk, and Dane are continuing to investigate collaboratively to determine what charges will be referred to the respective District Attorneys.

His brother, Jeremy A. Hays, age 30, is being held on a tentative charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The 34-year-old brother is not being named due to his cognitive disability.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed today that 44-year-old Tracy Czaczkowski of Buffalo Grove, IL. was the victim in Sunday’s drive-by shooting.  She has died at UW-Hospital as a result of the gun shot wound.  Our condolences go out to the family and we convey their request for privacy during this difficult time.
