Dane Arts Announces Classes Offered This Fall Aimed At Helping Artists

MADISON- Dane Arts announced today they will be offering classes every Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM in September for artists looking to increase their business skills. The classes coincide with training offered to artist selected to participate in the Dane Arts By Local Night Market on October 13th. Facilitated by local professionals the classes will be presented by the ArtWrite Collective. All classes will be held at 100 State in Madison.  Classes cost $20 per class or $60 to attend all four. Classes include: Marketing: It’s Not Just for Capitalists!; “What do I charge?” Pricing Your Creative Labor; Professionalism & Productivity on a Dime; Taxes for Artists.

To sign up fill out the form at the link provided. Once you completed and submit the application you will receive a confirmation of your submission. You will be invoiced for your classes. You will be able to pay via PayPal or by check.

We'll discuss sustainable strategies for branding and storytelling as well as how to establish relationships with your clients. This is a holistic look at marketing with attention given to the skills needed to be successful.

 

“What do I charge?” Pricing Your Creative Labor - Facilitated by Rhea Ewing

Are you charging what your work is worth? How much should you charge for a painting? How about for that corporate commission? Regardless of the type of art you make, understanding the value of your work is vital to a successful career. We'll discuss market pricing, building an hourly rate, and whether or not that "exposure" you hear so much is really worth pursuing.



Professionalism & Productivity on a Dime - Facilitated by Sam Press

When resources are thin, it's hard to keep your creative work at its best. Whether it's figuring out how to frame an art show when you're strapped for cash or finding time to take care of your business when you work full time at your day job(s), the creative life is full of challenges when you have limited resources. This workshop will offer tips and tricks for creating and presenting your work professionally, even when time and money are hard to come by.

 

Taxes for Artists - Facilitated by Stephanie Potter
