Cambridge High School Grant - 2010

On behalf of the School District of Cambridge and the Severson Learning Center I would like to thank you for your financial support. Receiving a grant from your organization was a vital component in the initial development of an environmental education summer school program.

The grant funds we received were used to purchase materials for our district wide summer school program. 65 elementary students participated in 12 different environmental education classes over the course of the summer. Some of those classes included:

  • Orienteering
  • Tracks and Scat
  • Pond Water Study
  • Sounds of Nature
  • Bug Out!
  • All About Birds
  • Green Thumb Gardening

With funds from your grant program we were able to buy materials and equipment for many of these classes. Items purchased included: compasses, bird callers, gardening tools, nets, pond water investigation kits, binoculars, etc. Our summer school students used this equipment to interact with new plants and animals, investigate their surroundings, explore, discover, and have a great time learning about the environment. The classes were a huge success. We are very thankful for the resources your grant funding was able to provide. Your support helped make this program a very meaningful experience for our students.

Thank you again for your financial support. The School District of Cambridge and the Severson Learning Center look forward to working with you again in the future. Please contact me if there is ever anything we can do to further your community efforts.
