Who is Eligible to Vote?

  1. Every United States citizen age 18 or older who has resided in a municipality (city, village or township) for 28 consecutive days before any election is an eligible voter. Voters must show Photo ID in order to vote (with some exceptions for certain types of absentee voters). For more information, see our Voter ID page.
  2. Any United States citizen age 18 or older who moves within this state later than 28 consecutive days before an election shall vote at his or her previous election district or ward.
  3. Any person convicted of treason, felony or bribery is not allowed to vote unless his or her civil rights are restored.

How to Register to Vote?

There are three ways you can register to vote:

  1. In person before the election day
  2. In person on the election day
  3. By mail until the 3rd Wednesday before the election day
