The Dane County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with several local businesses in Dane County to provide citizens with three upcoming crime prevention presentations.
April 22nd – Prescription Pill and Heroin Abuse
Law enforcement has seen an increasing amount of calls related to prescription drug and Heroin abuse. Dane County deputies and Cross Plains Police have joined with Walgreens, The Safe Communities Coalition, and local parents that have been touched by this recent epidemic to educate citizens on this issue. This presentation coincides with the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 27th.
April 29th – Identity Theft
If you interested in learning how you can avoid being a victim of identity theft, scams and other financial crimes, Dane County deputies and Cross Plains Police have partnered with the State Bank of Cross Plains for this informational meeting.
May 6th – Internet and Technology Safety
The Internet and technology play an integral role in our daily lives. Deputies will present information on Internet crimes, including Internet predators, cyber bullying and basic safety tips.
All of the presentations will take place in the upper level of Coach’s Club, 1200 Main Street in Cross Plains from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
Thanks to Coach’s Club, State Bank of Cross Plains, and the Dane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, dinner and beverages will be provided at all of the free presentations. The organizers do ask that all attendees bring non-perishable food items for donation to the Cross Plains Food Bank. To RSVP for any or all of the presentations, contact Deputy Clint Seltzner at 608-767-4904, or at Seltzner.Clint@danesheriff.com.
