Five New Deputies Join Sheriff’s Office

On the morning of Tuesday, May 26th, Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney will swear in five new deputies. The ceremony will take place at 9:00 am on the second floor of the Public Safety Building located at 115 W. Doty Street.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office proudly welcomes:
· Tracy Becker, age 30 of Madison, WI
· Nathan Katzenmeyer, age 33 of Evansville, WI
· Joseph Raymond, age 30 of Platteville, WI
· Matthew Schirmacher, age 22 of McFarland, WI
· Ronald Stage, age 27 of Geneseo, IL
This day marks the start of a 23-week training program the new deputies will receive before they fill their first work assignment in the Dane County Jail. The training includes a thirteen-week basic law enforcement academy and a four-week jail officer academy. They will serve a two-year probationary period. Each deputy is filling an existing vacancy.
