Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today announced that Bonnie Hammersley is leaving her position as Director of the Department of Administration (DOA) for Dane County to become the Administrator of Muskegon County in Michigan. The change becomes effective on March 20th, 2009.
Falk said: “This is a bittersweet moment. Muskegon County is lucky to have Bonnie. She has earned the chance to take on these additional responsibilities and she will do a great job. But we will really miss her. Bonnie epitomizes hard work, integrity, compassion, and competence. She is a superb public manager, who has improved every aspect of Dane County she’s been involved with. We have a better criminal justice system and more efficient use of space and facilities because of Bonnie. She has kept projects large and small on track and on budget. There are all sorts of necessary but unnoticed tasks -- like printing, document handling, food services -- that Bonnie has improved. I wish her the best.”
Beginning on March 23rd, Travis Myren, DOA Deputy Director, will serve as Interim Director of DOA.
